National Privacy Principles Protecting Your Privacy

Protecting your privacy and the confidentiality of your personal information is important to us, as it is fundamental to the way we conduct the Australian Christian Forum on Education.

Following is the information that the Privacy Act requires us to communicate.

Australian Christian Forum on Education

The Australian Christian Forum on Education is a is a national association of Christians engaged in educational activities in schools, colleges, universities, government agencies, churches and the community. The purposes of ACFE include:

  • strengthening the partnership between professionals in education and the wider community
  • conducting public forums and conferences at local, regional, state or national level
  • generating well-researched Christian responses to educational issues and convey these by every suitable means
  • contributing to the professional development of educators
  • encouraging and supporting the development of Christians in education (both professional educators and members of the community) who wish to enter positions of leadership in education
  • co-operating with other Christian organisations active in the field of education, enabling Christians to speak with a united voice on issues of common concern, thus increasing the political impact
  • maintaining an active publications program, including NEXUS, the Journal of Christian Education, books papers and resource packages.

Your personal information

The personal information collected and maintained by the ACFE comprises your name, address, contact details and information specific to your involvement with the organisation.

The information requested allows us administer your contribution to ACFE. Your personal information is also collected for research to develop our services, activities and publications. If you do not wish us to contact you regarding other services please call us on (02) 9868 6644.

Disclosure of your personal information to third parties

ACFE does not disclose or provide your personal information to any other organisation or agency.

Contacting us about access and correction of your personal information

ACFE aims to ensure that your personal information is accurate, up to date and complete. Please contact us on (02) 9868 6644 if you would like to seek access to or revise your personal information, or feel that the information we currently have on record is incorrect or incomplete, or believe that the privacy of your personal information has been interfered with. In these cases you are entitled to raise your concerns. Your complaint will be managed and resolved appropriately.

If you choose not to provide us with information?

We only ask for information that is necessary for the purposes outlined in this statement. In some circumstances if you don't provide us with all requested information you could miss the opportunity to be involved in some activities and programs of ACFE.
